A Little Reasons calendar is personal by design, so this page explains plainly what we collect, why, who helps us, and how long we keep it.
Who we are
Wayne Astridge, trading as Little Reasons, Flat 20, Parkview, 30 Radford Way, Billericay, Essex, CM12 0DY, is responsible for your information. Questions or requests go to hello@littlereasons.love.
What we collect
About you, the buyer: your email address, your name if you give it, and a record of your payment from Stripe (amount, date, any discount code, and the wording you agreed to before paying). We don’t receive your card details.
About the person it’s for: their first name, their email address, the pronouns you choose, your answers about them, the photographs you add, and the reasons written for them. We also record when each door’s email is sent and when a door is opened, so we can tell whether the calendar is working.
Technical: your timezone, so doors open at the right hour, and the short-lived logs any website keeps when it’s used.
Advertising: we advertise on Facebook, Instagram and TikTok, and we use Meta’s pixel on the pages where we sell — the home page and the screens where you make a calendar. It tells Meta that a browser visited and what it did there, so we can see whether an advert was worth running and show our adverts to people like you. It does not run on a calendar page someone has been given — if you are the recipient of one of these, you are not being tracked by us. You can turn it off with an ad blocker or your browser’s tracking protection, and you can change what Meta does with it in your Facebook or Instagram ad settings.
Beyond that we don’t set cookies to follow you around. After you pay, one cookie remembers that this browser belongs to the buyer, so only you can open your calendar while you’re building it. One setting is saved so a tip isn’t shown twice. Stripe sets its own cookies on its payment page to prevent fraud.
Why we use it
- To make and deliver the calendar you bought. That’s the contract between us, and it’s why we need the recipient’s name, email and your answers.
- To email the person it’s for. They didn’t sign up, so we rely on our legitimate interest in delivering a gift someone chose for them. Every email lets them stop the emails.
- To keep it safe. Words and photos are checked automatically for harmful content. If something is refused, you can change it or write to us.
- To keep records the law requires, such as payments for tax.
We never sell your information, and we don’t use it for advertising.
Who helps us
These services handle information for us, only to do their part:
- Stripe takes your payment. Stripe holds your card details; we never see them.
- Supabase stores the calendar, your answers and your photos, in London.
- Vercel runs the website, in London.
- Postmark sends our emails: your confirmation and the recipient's daily doors.
- Anthropic provides the AI that writes the reasons, finds faces so photos crop well, and checks words and photos for anything harmful. It does not use what we send it to train its models.
- Zoho hosts our hello@ mailbox, if you write to us.
- Meta receives a signal from its pixel when a browser visits the pages where we sell, so we can measure our advertising. Not on a recipient's calendar page.
Some of them are US companies, so information can be processed in the US. Where it is, it’s protected by the safeguards UK law requires, such as the UK’s approved contract terms.
Children
Calendars can be made for children. The information about them comes from the adult buying it, is used only to make and deliver that calendar, and is deleted on the same date as everything else. The buyer must be 18 or over.
How long we keep it
A calendar, its answers and its photos are deleted on 1 October of the year after it was bought. For a calendar bought in 2026, that’s 1 October 2027. We email you beforehand. Payment records are kept for six years because the law requires it. You can ask us to delete a calendar sooner at any time.
Your rights
You, and the person the calendar is for, can ask for a copy of the information we hold, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to how we use it. Email hello@littlereasons.love and we’ll reply within a month. If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
Changes
If we change how we use information, we’ll update this page and the date at the top.
